One of our shelter fosters gets a gunky, nasty eye seasonally. His eye
will be stuck closed whenever he wakes up. We use a Q-tip with warm
water and just keep wetting the dried edges until it opens on it's own.
There is sometimes a greenish, thick liquid built up under the lids that
we clean off as well. His eyes will get puffy and the lids get red.
This has been cked by a vet and the first time we used antibiotic drops
to treat the eye. Due to the yearly timing and the fact that all the
rest of the year his eyes are fine, we feel it is related to allergies.
