Sheryl,

When you say Mojave's bladder is misshaped - can you elaborate? Could
it be that this poor shape is contributing to his difficultes?
Especially if the bladder when full closes off the urethra tube.

Kind of like if you fill a ballon with water, the weight of it
pinches the neck colsed and the water cannot escape.

It may be a relatively "simple mechanics" problem, although I doubt
if this is the case that it will be a simple fix.

I am in no way familiar with bladder or ureter surgeries, but I'd
talk with the vet(s) about this possibility and if they can offer a
stint for the urethra, or surgical support to reshape the bladder.

IF surgery is out of the question or needs to wait until funds are
available I'd try to see about offering him some sort of
gravitational help.

Maybe trying various elevations to the litter pan will help? Create
some sort of ramp in the front out of old magazines or such so he can
get in it. If you've got radio graphs of the mishhaped bladder,
figure out which way the tilt would go to help open the urethra tube.
It will probably take several attempts to get just the right angle
you may even end up turning the litter pan around completely to get
the right angle.

Obviously he knows when his bladder is full and is trying to
eliminate, but it sounds like a physical blockage is preventing him
from succeeding.

Hope this helps!
Cheers! Kim
