Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: Lupron as a preventative for adrenal recurrance-data?
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

We've tried the melatonion implant, and for us,it didn't work well.
Drew still had to have surgery twice. So now we are on monthly lupron
and he's doing great. He has energy and acts like a 2 year old. Fizzle
is on the implant too, as a preventative, and so far no problems, but
I do think she may be adrenal, but at her age, 6 yrs old, I won't be
doing surgery. If need be she'll go on lupron.
My vet did mention she's heard of giving a once a year lupron shot on
a ferret no more than 1 1/2 yrs old, to help prevent adrenal diease,
but mine we're all over 2 yrs old, so we can't do it.
