First of all I am not a vet. I'm hoping that the link below will give you some info on a good ferret vet. If it doesn't work go the the link section on the Ferrethealth group site and it is in there.

Regarding the fleas, it's possible that if he had lots of bites he may be suffering from an infection from the bites and will need to go on antibiotics. There are probably many more answers but your first thing to do is to get him to a ferretknowledgeable vet as soon as you can.
