With dilated cardiomyopathy it is just a matter of keeping them with us as long as we can and as long as they have a decent quality of life. When our Elvis was diagnosed last year the vet put him on furosemide and enalapril and told us we could have 2 months or 2 years. There is no cure. He passed on June 25 and with the meds we had him a little over a year longer. Our vet was going to try Pimobedan next but Elvis went so quickly we didn't have a chance to try it. From what I have read and heard Pimobedan is a better choice than Digoxin but I'm not a vet and have never used either. Give your baby lots of hugs and let him know you love him.
Prayers and hugs
Lynne and the brats
