Once again, Bear is improving after we've taken him off the Lasix.

Well, I'm definitely aware that there is no cure for heart disease.
I've had more than a couple of ferretts with it over the last decade or
so... never seen them crash on furosemide/lasix the way Bear has. Once
again, today, he has improved markedly. He has not had Lasix since
yesterday morning. It's the Lasix - has to be. It's a delicate
balancing act. Today, he's back to being himself - interested in
cuddling, inspecting things, trundling around, sleeping with his paws
in the air, eating his A/D (which he likes even more than Carnivore
Care) and so on. The lasix, while it did help slow down his
respiration, dried him out so badly that he got bloody noses and
couldn't move. At all. He also did not want to eat or drink. At all.

By the way, our veterinary cardiologist does NOT believe Pimobendan is
safer than Digoxin. He is involved in current research regarding the
two. It's just one opinion, but he wants to stress that it's very
important not to just jump on the latest drugs that aren't "tried and
true" yet. He said that in some cases in dogs, the Pimobendan actually
caused sudden heart failure; so it's nothing to jump into.

Just an FYI!
