I just learned that Dr. Williams does say that a CDC makes sense before surgery to check
things like blood platelet levels and more, but usually also doing the Chem Panel isn't
needed. Many, many thanks to Danee who corrected me. (It is a high tension time again
with Dad's illness ratcheting to a worse level so I am rather distracted and checking on what I
say more important than ever, please.)

Anyway, Steve and I have found doing both useful before surgery for what can look like
insulinoma because in that case if it is instead lymphoma or carcinoma the ferret can be
spared surgery, and those two often throw a number of blood levels off.
