I don't have any experience with pimobendan, but I googled it and came up
with the links below, which I hope will provide you with some useful
information. Note that in the second one, the dosage info is in kg, so some
conversion will be necessary. Using that formula, you'd be looking at
between .38 and 1.14 mg/day, with about .95 mg being the "preferable" daily
dose for your 4.2 lb guy. According to the manufacturer's recommendations,
the dose should be given in two administrations, half in the morning and
half 12 hours later, with each dose given 12 hours before feeding.
