Well Josie isn't fine anymore and seems to have been hit hard by this
thing - whatever it is.
After writing that post last night and not seeing Josie for 6 hours I
extracted her from her nap spot and all I can say was she was
deflated! Totally disintrested. Mushy feling. When she pooped it was
a funky mucousy, greenish gold color with brown specks.
I immediately offered her water dribbles from my mouth ( her favorite
way to drink) and she slowly lapped it up. I've continued with this
every 15 minutes to half an hour since last night and she is already
a tad better. This morning she wasn't the least bit interested in her
mouse morsels, but by this afternoon, she showed interest enough to
dispatch one and stash it for later.
Ever since a kit, I have attempted to get her to eat "hospital food"
in case of a problem like this, but to no avail. Any attempt to
introduce processed anything and she refuses it vehemently! This may
be a drawback to confirmed whole prey eaters.
She never has been a ferret that carried any extra ounces on her
frame and this illness makes her look positively awful! GEEZ they go
downhill so fast!
But on a good note this afternoon she's made two deposits - from wha
I have no idea- I haven't seen her eat a thing. No mice, no bits of
cgh, the baby food I've wiped on her lips and gums certainly isn;t
enough to make a poop.
But Josie IS making formed poops! and still making light yellow
colored urine in decent amounts. No more mucous.
I'll be at the vet's door with his coffee ready tomorrow morning!
Fozzy is making almost normal deposits and Faylene keeps going back
and forth between almost normal poops to fluid poops. But she is
drinking well and kibble crunching. Guess I'll dose her again with
the Pepto.
regards, Kim
