I'm so sorry to hear about Miki, who was having seizures.

One of my rescue fosters 10+ years ago was diagnosed with epilepsy,
which had come on pretty suddenly. He showed telltale signs before
seizures, which I learned to recognize in time to administer meds to
ward off the worst. One of the other ferrets also would "alert" on
him before he seized; she'd drag him to a safe place then lay on him
and fight off any human or animal that tried to get near. She groomed
and loved on him during the seizure also. We treated him with a
homeopathic remedy, which seemed to lessen the number of seizures,
and Valium for the acute care. He did really well for about three
years before he died of cancer at old age. His full medical history
was unknown, although around the time of his rescue he broke w/ECE
(it was still a mystery disease back then) and then had a second bout
a couple of months later. Other than that, though, he was healthy and
the vet was never able to determine a cause.

I was really lucky with this one b/c I was able to take Gunther to
work with me, so he really was rarely alone and without treatment for
the severe seizures. I don't know what would have happened otherwise.
It was horrible for me to watch him seizing violently; even worse for
him.
