Josie's gagging starts the minute she smells the baby food! LOL!
She's always done it - even when I've tried to acclimate her to
the "hospital foods" when she was healthy! She sniffs, gags, shakes
her head and runs the other way - or pushes my hand away! Does the
same thing with Ferretone and sometimes even Ferretlax as well as the
DUk soup! She just has a very strong aversion to anything processed!
Silly little ferret.
The vet issued me some carnivore care today and I mixed some up
tonight. She didn't wretch at the smell of that and actually allowed
me to squirt it between her teeth without scruffing after the first
few squirts!
The syringe the vet gave me is very tiny - a 1ml syringe and is
working great so far!
Its a good thing Josie was born deaf - because if she could actually
hear my croaking voice - she'd WISH she were deaf!
Faylene on the other hand puts her paws over her ears, opens wide and
says - "just get it over will ya?" - yeah I WISH! Man she's a little
terror to medicate! But her ear will be free of bacteria too! Since
she is eating and drinking on her own, I'm not so worried about her.
But still need to medicate and make certain she drinks and eats.
Are we having fun yet?
