To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

I noticed a lump on my Emma that came up overnight. It was on one side
of her back near her shoulder blades. I took her to the vet and he did
a smear and sent it off for pathology. It came back as a sarcoma. I
believe sarcomas can happen in cats and ferrets and are caused by a
previous vaccine. Correct me if I am wrong please. This is ironic
since I have made the decision not to vaccinate mine due to all of the
reactions I have heard about. Personal decision. She was a rescue and
aprox 4 years of age. I had had her for 3. She went down hill very
quickly and I had to make the decision of helping her to the bridge.
Hopefully what your baby has is something totally different and is
treatable. Good luck.
