Well, we have had ferrets for 26 years and there
are a pile of tricks for introductions with the
most important one we have found being to give
reassurance TO THE ORIGINAL FERRETS. It's like
having a baby when there are other kids. The
baby by its very nature requires more care and
the other kids feel that they no longer mean as
much to Mom and Dad so they need reassurance.
You said that no blood was drawn. Ferrets can
be very repetitive about setting the hierarchy
status when a new one arrives and sometimes our
protectiveness can make that take even longer.
So let all know how deeply they are still loved with
a lot of reassurance and try tricks like separating
them most of the time for a while if you have reason
to worry about injury, but then when the two are
sleepy after having had a lot of positive attention
from you then snuggle them at the same time and
give them treats they have to slowly lick up together.
