Subject: [ferrethealth] Viokase

Has anyone used Viokase in ferrets? My ferret (3 yrs) has
been "chronically" ill for about 1yr. He has seen several different
vets, had workups, Xrays and been on 5mg/day Pred., Amoxi. off and on.
No one has come up with a definite diagnosis. He has also been on a
soup diet of homemade gravy/ Science Diet A/D and pumpkin. His rear
end weakness has gotten progressively worse and is incontinant at
times. The reason I am asking about Viokase is that while he IS
eating, he is loosing all body fat and mass. I feel like he is not
absorbing the calories and nutrients. Maybe Viokase could help with
this possible problem. Thanks for any info.
