I've never met Mike in person, but I've spoken with him on the phone a couple of times. He was always pleasant and helpful. The miamiferret website helped my save my Snuffy's life and saved him a traumatic trip to the emergency vet that would have been unnecessary.
I hope there is someone to mainain the site and continue Mike's work. He did more good than I think it would have been possible for him to know.
My husband's big concern is for his family (human and furry) left behind. He wanted to make sure there was human family to take care of the fuzzy ones (and the fuzzy ones comfort the human, so it's a good match).
My last wondering thought is if it would be possible to set up a website where people he helped (or who know people and ferrets he helped) can leave notes and rememberances for his family to read when they're ready.
Any comments/thoughts/info on any of the above?
Debbie
[Moderator's Note: MIke and Wanda did not get any new ferrets after their last loss; yes, there is family. Animal placement is not a worry.
If anyone sets up such a website, please, let me know at either of my addresses:
sukie@mac.com
or
sukiec@optonline.net
so that I can let Mike's family know the URL. Right now they are overwhelmed, though, so snail mail cards are preferred at this time.]
