We tried Viokase once but it was not the right approach.
Because it had been begun, though, it had to be continued.
The actual reason our little one was wasting was because she had the hard to find form of
cardiomyopathy: hypertrophic. Once the cardiomyopathy was treated she stopped losing
weight. Before then we had searched for a great many possibilities with no luck. The
Viokase didn't work, either.
I suggest first seeking the cause of the wasting including talking with your vet about doing
not only an abdominal ultrasound but also a chest ultrasound at the same time if there might
be heart disease which is as thoroughly hidden as out little girl's was.
