Subject: [ferrethealth] Lupron Dose?
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Hello all,
I have a question about my next dose of Lupron. After
speaking with my vet about my girl that is around 5-6 years old he
really felt like a second surgery was not going to prolong her life.
She has relapsed with her adrenal issues and is quite bald, also
with some swelling. I got her on Lupron and melatonin implants ASAP.
My vet also said since the Lupron was available in
many doses trying low end and working up would be fine. So we tried a
500 mcg dose. After a couple weeks I notice a very slight decrease in
her swelling. But she is not `normal' looking. So it's been about a
month and I would like to know if giving her another 500 mcg would be
okay. Would this show us if a 1000mcg dose will work for her? I am
not even to concerned about hair growth, I love her bald or not. I
would just really like to get the swelling down.
I did make sure the Lupron I got was the depot form
that would slow release. I ordered from professional arts. I must
asked at least a dozen times before they sent out the order to make
sure. I realize she wouldn't still have the entire 500 mcgs in her
body now, a month later.
SO I am looking for a little input here. Would you
try another 500mcgs and in 4 months try the big dose of 2
milligrams? What do you suggest? Anyone with a little experience here
would be helpful. Thanks and Dooks~Kris
