You will find vets that will put things off just like this guy who looked
at visible infection and said don't worry--

As a ferret vet tech, a ferret rehabilitator and former hobby breeder- I
AM TELLING YOU
WORRY-
the minute she stops eating you can bet you have lost the battle!
A blood tests CBC will show elevated white counts. that MEANS INFECTION!

.. this is the same test that checked for anemia so- now there is also a
problem IF THE VET DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO READ FERRET NORMS--
and that may be part of the problem with the vet you already saw.... ferret
medicine is specialized and much more than knowing what vaccines to give!

GET TO ANOTHER FERRET KNOWLEDGEABLE VET!

EXPLORATORY SURGERY to locate the source of infection is the ONLY thing IMO
that will keep the ferret alive- the sooner the better! And YES she also
need the antibiotics!
