It is hard to say. Things differ among different types of
malignancies and different species. "Cancer" is not one
disease, but hundreds with certain traits in common. In
some human studies certain malignancies can be slowed
with nutrient deprivation and in some others specific types
of nutrient deprivations might be important. For example,
one very large human prostate malignancy study released
this year showed that men who already have the problem
who take supplemental vitamins are more likely to die with
the presumption being that the malignancy uses the
nutrients preferentially, but which of the nutrients hasn't
been looked at yet. Also among humans those who are
having radiation therapy for some hormonal types of
malignancies need to avoid Vitamin C because the
malignancies not only utilize it well but it appears to shield
them from the treatment.

The article you sent refers to one type of malignancy: lymphoma
in one type of animal: the domestic dog

The idea of possible benefit of increasing Omega 3 Fatty Acids is
intriguing. I am wondering, though how one would manage with
ferrets to decrease carbohydrates while also decreasing protein
to moderate levels. What would comprise the bulk of the diet?
Ferrets don't have the digestive ability to be as omnivorous as
dogs. Ideas?

We also don't know if the approaches would work the same way in
ferrets. They may certainly be worth trying, though.
