Subject: [ferrethealth] cardiac disorders
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Hello all,

My Sir Didimus is 2 and has always been small for a male. He is a
marshall farms ferret who at 8 weeks weighed .85 pounds, topped at 2
and at present is at 1.83. He has also always been a "hacker" at
intermittent times, had a chest xray last year which looked great, but
I brought him back to my very ferret knowledgable vet today because he
continues to hack at times. For the first time she detected a long run
of tachycardia when she listened to him, so he is going in next week
for another xray and a rhythm strip. He is all out play when he is
awake, eat drinks and poops well. I trust my vet and am searching for
others' experiences with a ferret with a cardiac disorder. We will
discuss meds next week after the visit, but my vet says sometimes the
cure is worse than the disorder. Any experiences are welcome. thank you
