Subject: [ferrethealth] Update on ferret with enlarged heart & coughing

Ultrasound shows large mass behind her heart, fluid in lungs and fluid
around her heart. These fluids were successfully removed yesterday and
are being sent out for analysis.
We believe that the mass behind her heart is cancer and the mass
pressing against the heart is causing it to enlarge.
This is my first ferret that has been diagnosed with cancer prior to
her death so I'm not sure what to expect. My primary concern to is
keep her comfortable and pain free.
Any suggestions and ideas?
I'd also like to thank everyone who wrote both on and off list with
help for my little JD and for Piper (Ferret with chronic diarrah since
July)
