Subject: [ferrethealth] Fractured Arm
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Greetings,
My Otter, 3yrs 5months, has fractured his forearm- we think he jumped off the
(doublehigh) bed and landed wrong.
My surgeon has it splinted up, a fine small work of craft, and had never done such , nor
heard of splinting a ferret fracture before,

Short of trying to find an orthopaedic specialist who'd do work on a ferret, this was the
most sensible course of action.

It is a clean wound, no tissue penetration:
"Mid-shaft transverse radius fracture, and mid-shaft spiral ulna fracture."
The same as on our forearm.

If there are any of you who HAVE done it or seen it in write up, or can direct me through
the archives, which I have trouble with, I and my Dr would appreciate your responses.
