To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

We had a ferret that dislocated the elbow of his front right leg in a
fall. The vet didn't try surgery but taped his leg straight down to his
body to allow it to heal. The first attempt was for 3 weeks but it
didn't stay so she did it again and we left it for 8 weeks. It healed
beautifully that time and he never had problems with it afterward. He
did fine with just 3 legs during that time frame. When he got tired of
hopping on the front left leg, he would simply tuck it down along his
body and push himself along with his hind legs! It was so funny to watch
but it sure didn't slow him down.
