The things I do for this list... Background: I have
lived in Brasil for almost a year in my life, and
probably my favorite food in the world comes from NE
Brasil. Most of it includes dende oil. Therfore, I
actually have the stuff in my pantry.

Dende oil has a VERY unique flavor, and is almost
always mixed with other oils. I have been eating it
for almost 30 years (yikes!) and I still can only take
it in small doses. While I doubted it was
harmful-anymore than safflower, soy, coconut, olive
oil is harmful, I had a hard time believing the
ferrets would go near it with a ten foot pole. So I
poured some of my precious stash out in a little dish,
and...no one would touch it with a ten foot pole. Even
the kits who eat anything that doesn't bite them back.
So, I think you are going to have a hard time getting
it into your ferrets unless they have done something
to the flavor.
It is a very good source of EFA's, beta cartone and
Vit E. Any claims beyond this I would research
carefully. Good luck....or, boa sorte!

Val not a vet or, unfortunately, a brasilera
