Subject: [ferrethealth] Dosage of prednisone for insulinoma
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com
Hi, I am just wondering if the dosage of prednisone for my ferret with
insulinoma is accurate. His blood test has been averaging about 40-45
for the last 2 months when i get it checked bi weekly. His vet has him
at 5mg/ml once a day. After reading a post from a few days ago I called
and asked if it was ok for me to give it to him twice a day. The reply
was yes. My question is if this is the dosage usually given to a ferret
at around this stage of insulinoma. Also, thank you so much to whoever
it was that suggested taking nutrical to the pharmacist and have them
mix it with the meds. Levi just HATED that fruit flavor and it was such
a battle giving him his meds. And thanks to ALL of you for all of the
great info and my heart goes out to every one of you who has lost one
of their "children".
Thank you, Anita (mom to Doofy,Sammy,Sissy,Levi)
and never forgetting my special baby PEPE.
