Thank you so much for your time. The thing is that the antibiotics
don=B4t seem to be working. How long do we have to wait to see if they
are effective or not?
The ulcers keep growing. Though, not as fast and as deep as they did
when he was without antibiotics.
* Culture was done on wed. august, 1st, 2007.
* Results: wed. aug, 8th, 2007: showed sensitivity of the bacteria
(pseudomonas) to: Ciprofloxacin, Enrofloxacin and Tetracycline.
* started Baytril: wed. aug, 8th,2007 (1/8 of pill 50 mg. every 24 hs.)
* started Ciprofloxacin: thurs. aug, 9th, 2007 (0,1 ml every 12 hs.)
* monday aug, 13th, 2007: we started applying locally ciprofloxacin
(0,5 ml) on the skin ulcers.
* Thurs. aug, 16th, 2007: one week with antibiotics and ulcers still
growing
These are the pics of the growing ulcers with the dates:

What do you think? Shall we continue with the antibiotics or change?
We do not have many options really, cause the culture showed
resistance of the bacteria to all but 3 antibiotics. Could this grow
to become a general internal infection or septicemia? Yesterday the
vet "scratched" the surface of one of the ulcers to see (today) if any
healing process is taking place.
Sorry to bother you so much but, do you have any advice?
A million thanks.
Luciana.
