Subject: [ferrethealth] Need Physical Therapy help
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

I post a couple of weeks ago about my boy Koda, who got a shot of
Ivermectin and it paralyzed him. Well he's home now, after 2 1/2
weeks in the hospital on IV, and meds. Koda is doing ok, not really
moving much yet, but he can hold his head up now and move it around.
He can eat soup if I position him over the bowl with paws around the
bowl. If he starts to list to one side, he flops over and can't get
back up, so I need to stay close by. He tries to schooch around, to
get out of his sleep sack so he can potty, sometimes he makes
it,sometimes he doesn't. But then after he potties, he just lays in
it and gets cold and shakes, it breaks my heart. He will turn his
heads backwards, curl backwards and push with his front foot to make
a circle to get outside the bag. I have to be gone to work for 6
hours, so I try to get who ever is home to keep checking on him.

My question is, what kind of physical therapy can I do with him?
Right now I lay him on his back and move is legs and arms forward
and backwards, bend them, massage his paws and back. But what else
can I do to help him try to walk again? I know he's depressed over
not being able to do what he used to do, and now he's grinding his
teeth, I think he has an ulcer. The vet said I can give him
pepto, .03ml, so I will try that and hope it helps him. My poor boy.
