Pediapred is the brand name. It is prednisilone - it comes
in different strengths. Pediapred brand is only 6.5mg per 5ml.
Prelone, Orapred are a few other brands of prednisilone. Those come in strengths of 5mg per 5ml or 15mg per 5ml -as examples.
It doesn't have to be the brand. With my ferrets, they will only willingly take Pediapred brand, anything else I have to mix with their food, or try masking it with ferretone. You can also get it compounded.
Anyway, you should have no problem getting it, it is commonly used in children with asthma and other problems that require steroids.
A quick search on the internet:
Pediapred brand is from Celltech Manufacturing, and another source says Aventis Pharma Inc.
Carafate is the brand name, sulcrafate is the generic . I think the manufacturer will vary depending on what country it is from. being another drug used in humans, you should be able to find it at a local pharmacy.

I have a 6 year old male who has insulinoma.
At the moment he gets 1/4 of 2.5 mg tablet prednisolon 2 times daily.
And I would like to give him liquid pred instead of pills
I have been looking for liquid pred, but can't seem to find it here in
denmark.
Do anyone know the name of the manufactor of pediapred? Perhaps the
reason I can't find it, is because it has another name here in europe.
And does anyone know the manufactor of carafate??
