Luciana, Dr. Williams mentioned the IV antibiotics. Is it possible for your vet to do that? It
helps *kickstart* the meds and it will take more than two weeks for the meds. Every time
you stop them, you are making the bacteria more resistent to the drugs. I see in the post
that it is expected to take at least one month and it has only been two weeks.

Is the sulfa a topical? Is there a drug that you can put on the ulcers as well as give orally? I
don't know, but you can ask your vet about that, too. I am afraid that if you do not get
very aggressive you are going to lose this little guy to a miserable death. Is he in pain?
Even grown men can die from the bacteria if you do not get it treated adequately. Are the
ulcers protected so that he is not getting any *dirt* or other debris in them? I don't know if
it can be rinsed with sterile saline, but I wonder if it can be used.

You sound like you are doing the right things, you just have to do them longer. It will not
be easy. The pics look like they are staying clean, but this is a LONG, HARD job ahead of
you. This little boy appears to have a very strong will, but you really need to be very
aggressive.

As I said first - ask your vet about giving him the IV antibiotics. I am not a vet and do not
know about that - I just know from reading this series of posts and Dr. Williams' advice,
that it will take a LOT of time.

Lots of hope and prayers headed your way. Please keep us informed.
