Subject: [ferrethealth] Fixed Female Ferret Exhibiting Sexual Behavior

I'm hoping that someone can shed some insight into this situation. I
have a 2 year old fixed female ferret, a dark eyed white, that has
recently (within the past month) been exhibiting sexual behaviors by
humping things. I know that this can be a sign of adrenal disease in
male ferrets, but I was unsure with females. She does not have any hair
loss, behavior changes (other than the humping), nor does she have a
swollen vulva. She is my first ferret and I'm not sure if this is
normal play behavior (the way dogs sometimes do this) or if it is
something to be concerned about. Any insight would be greatly
appreciated.
