This can also happen with a thrown clot: thrombosis.
We've seen exactly that in one with cardiomyopathy
who threw a clot to her brain because of her heart
disease.
Some common causes of thromboses are heart diseases
like the types of cardiomyopathy (one types of which,
hypertrophic, often can be spotted only by ultrasound),
or kidney disease.
Just to be more complete:
There are also infections which can create brain symptoms:
meningitis, toxoplasmosis, ADV, etc. If I recall right one
or more of the types of food poisonings can have neuro
symptoms though I don't think they are ones of the right
type. You'll want to check the archives.
There is infection treatment advice from
suedvm
(to put into the from box)
when you search for terms like
neuro
toxo
and other terms to put in the "Search message body for"
box
Also, general searches on the related terms may help.
