Brewers Yeast contains selenium which can bring down blood glucose.
That is why it is given for diabetic ferrets but not ferrets with
insulinoma.
Most important point:
Clear the supplements with your vet FIRST. Your vet will likely ask
a veterinary oncologist before getting back to you unless the vet has
already read up on that in relation to the specific type of malignancy.
Some malignancies take off better if an individual takes supplements;
they simply can pull up the nutrients better than normal cells is what is
postulated. (There are actually quite a few studies in multiple species
on this but I don't know of any of those being in ferrets and don't
know the range of malignancies studied so be sure to ask vet. The most
recent that I have personally encountered was a recently released study
of human males with prostate cancer showing that those who take
vitamin supplements were twice as likely to die of the malignancy
during the course of the study. I am having a bit of trouble finding the
piece right now but

refers to it. It's only an illustration of what can be a surprise, anyway.)
Also, do not give C if radiation therapy is being used unless the experts
giving that therapy okay it first. Some malignancies take up C very well
and doing so turns out to shield the malignancies from radiation.
