Subject: [ferrethealth] Weight loss in 1 yr old male
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

I live in an area where I have yet to find a ferret knowledgable vet.
My 16 month old male, Fuzzy has been slowly losing weight over a period
of several months. He has no other symptoms, he eats well, plays well
and seems ok otherwise.
This at first appeared to be seasonal weight loss the spring he turned
one year old, then about that time one of his favorite food items
became unavailable and I was attributing the weight loss to a
combination of those two things.
He has lost another 2 ounces in the past month and is now down to 1239
gr from a maximum weight of 1540 gr last fall.
He is on a diet of soup once a day with the balance being a mix of Evo
feline and canine and Natural Gold kibble.
He eats well, plays well,no hairloss, poops are great, urine seems
normal in color and amount.
Should I be concerned or is it just the way he is?
