Quick but highly important notes:
If a med is given in amounts below 1 unit then people should not write
.5 ml
for half an ml. They should write
0.5 ml
Why?
Because the point is simply too hard to see. It causes confusion when people do not realize
that they forgot to type it, and confusion when people do not see the point to read it. If the
zero is there before the point then it is obvious that even if it is hard to see the point belongs
there.
BTW, if your melatonin reads 0.5mg/ml then that is one half of an mg of med in each ml.
