Subject: [ferrethealth] Prophlactic Lupron treatment?
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com
I have seen some interesting posts on forums regarding studies done in
giving a 220 mg Lupron depot along with melatonin in the early spring
of a females first year before they go into heat to prevent adrenal
disease later in life.
Apparently it was presented ant the NAVC last January.
I was wondering if anyone had any insight or information regarding
doing this as a preventative. From bits I have seen mentioned it said
that those treated never developed adrenal disease and those who
recieved the injection after their first heat had adrenal problems
delayed by 6 years.
I want to find out all I can before I decide to try it.
Thanks in advance for any information.
(I did a search to see if this had already been covered but couldnt
find anything.)
