Not sure WHY you need a sugar substitute for your
ferrets.
Sugar alchohols can cause diarrhea in humans, I hate
to think what it would do to a ferret with its shorter
digestive tract. Don't know about this particular one,
but I sure wouldn't try it on my ferrets.
I have personally used small amounts of sugar
containing products (eg Nutrical, a couple Fruit
Loops) with insulinomic ferrets without a problem. In
fact, maybe one of the vets can explain to me why so
many people treat insulinomic ferrets like diabetic
ones when it's such a different disease. I understand
you would not want to give MASSIVE amounts of sugar to
an insulimomic ferret, but I've never understood why
they need significantly more sugar restriction than a
regular ferret.
