Hello!

First of all I am sorry for my pour English.
I am not a native speaker, I live in Russia (in St-Petersburg) and have a problem with my ferret.

My ferret Asya is 4,8 years old. She has AD.
Last summer she began getting bold. Till august her tail got bold totally. Later the hairs on her tail regrow. But her back is bold now. Her fur is very dull. The vulva began to get swollen 2 weeks ago.

Her adrenal panel is:
Her results Her results
(August 2006) (February 2007) normal
Cortisol nmol/l 16,99 18,44 20-180
Testosterone nmol/l 0,69 -------- 0,5-1,8
Progesterone nmol/l 0,51 -------- 0,45-1,7
Estradiol pmol/l 231,5 219,9 120-370

The normal result was made after testing 40 russian ferrets.

Ultrasonic diagnostics (march 2007).
Liver is not enlarged.
Echo density of parenchyma is increased. Echo structure is homogeneous. Mass formations are not found. Blood vessels' picture normal, not deformed.
The configuration of gall bladder is ovoid. Location typical. Walls are not thickened. Contours are flat, clear. Contents of the bladder unechogenous, free of extra echodensed inclusions.
The pancreas is not visualized.
Thickness of spleen is 0,6 cm. Echo density homogeneous. Mass formations are not visualized. Free liquid in abdomen cavity is absent.
Uterus not enlarged. Thickness is 0,3 cm. Uteri horns not visualized. No liquid in the uteral cavity. Ovaries not visualized.
Urinary bladder partly full. The contents are unechogenic. Concriments not found. Thickness of the wall is 0,15 cm.
Kidneys not enlarged. The right kidney is 2,1 x 1,1 cm; the left - 2,2 x 1,1 cm. Contours are flat, clear. Mass formations are absent. Echo density of the cortex enhanced. Pyramids are safe, slightly dilated, hypoechodensed, mineralized at the basis. Renal pelvises are not dilated. Above the right kidney is seen hypoechogenic inclusion 0,5 cm in diameter.
Conclusion. Diffuse hepatic alterations, signs of nephritis. Hyperplasia of the right adrenal gland cannot be excluded.

The problem is, that my doctor never made surgery with removing glands in ferrets. And there is no doctor in ST-Petersburg, who made such surgery.

That's why I would be appreciating anyone who could send me some materials (or some links to the internet sites) for my vet about AD glands surgery and about using drugs after it (with photos, if possible) .

Thanks !
