Well, there are factors you didn't include which
affect the dose given, such as what the ferret's
blood glucose measurement was, and the size
of the ferret.

In
http://ferrethealth.org/archive/FHL2210
notice:

>From _Essentials of Ferrets, a Guide for
Practitioners_ by Karen Purcell, 1999:
0.1 - 2.5 mg/kg q 12-24 h PO

_Ferrets, Rabbits, and Rodents, clinical medicine
and surgery_, Katherine Quesenberry and
James Carpenter, 2004:
0.5 - 2.0 mg/kg q 12 - 24 h PO

_Ferret Husbandry, Medicine and Surgery_,
John Lewington, 2007:
0.10 -2.5 mg/kg s.i.d. b.i.d. p.o.

Notice the amount is in the milligram per
kilogram of the ferret's weight.

One milligram per each milliliter means the
ferret is getting one milligram at that
concentration each time.

Each kg is 2.20462262185 lb.
and each pound is 0.4535923699997481kg
so a 3 pound ferret is
1.3607771099992443 kg
a 4 pound one is
1.8143694799989925
etc.

or for a rough estimate just think of each pound
is a bit under half a kilogram.

able to call in prednisolone (no sugar or alcohol) at another pharmacy... and its written up
as this: "5mg/5ml. Give 1 ml twice a day". Now would this dosage and instructions be
considered a low amount to be starting him off with, or is this high?
