Subject: [ferrethealth] Question on blood test
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

I have a question. My boy Koda, who had a toxic reaction to a
Ivermectin shot is still about the same. He can stretch, curl, lift
his head and turn it, but still not able to stand or get out of his
potty. He can schooch (by curling around and around) to get out of
his sleep sack to potty, but can't or won't schooch around to get
out of his potty, so he lays in it. We are doing physical therapy
with him, but it doesn't seem to help any.

The vet who treated him in Nevada says he should be standing and
playing by now. He wants me to get a blood test from my vet down
here and send it up to him. My question is, what is he looking for
in the blood test?

I wish this could be a quick fix, but I know whatever it is will
take a long time. It's like he's a stroke victim, he can move his
legs, but not put any pressure on them, or get them to move how
their suppose to. I wonder if this may be how he is forever since
there hasn't been much change for a few weeks now. He's in no pain,
can eat(when I place soup in front of him), can poop and pee ok. I
won't put him to sleep because it's incovient for me, unless I see
he's in alot of pain, which he isn't. Right now I keep him in my med
cage by my bed at night, because he can't get into or out of the
cage the others are in. During the day he's with his brothers and
sisters in their room until I go to bed.
So if you have any ideas's on wht the vet is looking for in the
blood test, please let me know.
Thanks, Melanie*
