Subject: [ferrethealth] ringworm
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Dear vets and experienced ferret people,
In August of 2006 I took my little girl boo boo , she had a sore
that would appear & disappear .. it was on her hind leg area upper
fatty part of her leg...I took her to the vet ... he ran a skin
diagnostic test, and result came back as ring worm...

Vet gave me med , prescription Conofite drops 30 ml... He wanted me
to add 5 drops on affected area 2xdaily for 3 weeks.. well sore did
go away... Later another one appeared on her back.. treated that one
say way and it did go away.. Now I have noticed that sore is back on
hind leg again..

Do I treat again for 3 weeks twice / daily with meds... What is
causing these sores to come and go.. when it appears I do notice she
tends to scratch more.. just itchy I guess...

I do have two more ferrets is this contagious.. they did neither the
other two have contacted the ring worm...

Any suggestions....

Thanks,
Brea...
