Is it definitely a bruise rather that an enlarged organ
showing through?

You said that one adrenal could not be found. Are you
sure which one it was? I ask because the right is often
hidden under the Vena Cava.

The body needs the adrenal products so when there is
not a functioning one those products have to provided
in medications. Either a combo of Percorten and Pred,
or Fludrocort/Florinef and Pred is used. If your ferret
does not need to get those there is still a functioning
adrenal gland or a large enough remaining piece of
adrenal gland to supply those steroids.

If my memory serves part of what the the Pred does
is to replace an adrenal product the body maintain
hydration while the Percorten or Fludrocort/Florinef
maintains a proper electrolyte balance. Throwing
electrolytes out of whack can become fatal.

Has your ferret been getting either of those med
combos? If your ferret is alive without them there is
some functioning adrenal tissue remaining.

>From our experience ferret blood usually clots pretty easily.

This leaves me wondering if, in addition to the insulinoma
mentioned. the ferret's perhaps also might be dealing with
adrenal disease perhaps with the beginnings of secondary
anemia.
