Subject: [ferrethealth] Adrenal Surgery

Hi group! My ferret Danny Phantom is having Adrenal surgery Thursday.
I have never had a ferret be operated on before, although I've had a
few before my current business of 4. For those of you who have gone
through the surgery with your own little fuzzbutts, what should I
expect as far as post op goes? Did you isolate your patient in a
seperate cage afterwards? For how long? If you did an isolation cage,
did you let the recouperating ferret out of the cage at all in the
first few days - like to play/exercise? How soon did yours resume
normal eating behavior afterwards? I was told sometime after the
surgery he should have Lupron injections. Does this sound right? Any
suggestions would be very helpful. And please keep Danny in your
prayers Thursday morning. Thanks in advance!
