Subject: [ferrethealth] Insulunoma
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

I have a 5 year old adrenal and Insulunomic female ferret. Banditt is
currently on monthly Lupron injections and currently has been diagnosed with
insulunoma. Her sugar got as low as 20 and at last check was up to 58.
Banditt is currently on 80cc of prdnisone 2x a day and has recently begun
taking .20cc of Diazoxide 2x a day and .70cc of carafate 3x a day for
stomach upset. The vet also gave me carnivore care, that I have been giving
Banditt in the morning and at night. The problem that I am having is that
she really dislikes taking the meds, to the point that she grinds her teeth
when I give her the meds and then almost spits it out. Her energy level has
returned where she comes out to play, with my other two ferrets and looks
much more alert. Any suggestions on giving her the meds?
