To have Carafate work the best give it separately from food. Humans are told to wait 20
minutes to an hour before eating after they have Carafate.
Very, very IMPORTANT: NEVER give other meds soon before OR soon after Carafate. Try to
have at least 20 minutes between, more time than that would be better. The thing is that
Carafate can make some other meds inaccessible for digestion if they are taken too close
together
