Nutrical has some sugar. Then again, one of the people
who had the best luck with very lengthy medical managing
ferrets of anyone i know, Mike Janke, provided a bit of
Nutrical for them each day per his vet's instructions.

There's at least one well-known and highly respected ferret vet that
recommends nutrical for ferrets with insulinoma. On the advice of
this vet, I gave Beasley, who lived with insulinoma for 3.5 years,
nutrical with each meal. Don't know if it helped any, but it never
caused any of the adverse side effects usually associated with a
sugar spike. And he did live quite a long time with insulinoma.
