I've never used nutrical, but I have mixed some meds with ferretone, which they love and which is good for them. I also read on here not too long ago about someone who brought ferretone to the pharmacy and had the med compounded with it, and that made the difference between their ferret taking the med or fighting against it. My philosophy is that unless our vet says that mixing a med with something else will make it less effective, then it's worth mixing it with something the ferret likes in order to avoid adding stress to an already stressed or ill body.
