Well, it could be stress, or the kits could have brought in an infection. Historically, that is
the most common way for naive ferrets to get ECE. That is how it happened here when our
family had its only ECE experience, and it also happened here (and in a hefty number of
homes) for other infections like coccidia.

Of course, there are possibilities beyond stress, ECE, or coccidia, but those are three good
