Subject: [ferrethealth] An opinion please
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

I have a female ferret, age unknown. Her name is Abby. She is deaf and,
I believe, almost blind. I think she sees shadows. She eats with her
eyes closed. That is not my concern at present. I have had her for one
year. When I got her, her vulva was swollen; she had adrenal surgery
and following the surgery she did well. Except her vulva took months to
go down. My vet had considered that she might be an incomplete spay
prior to surgery and would had a full blood workup done. No sign of
anemia. Values were normal. Now her vulva is again swollen. It seemed
very rapid. We DO have a vet appointment. I'm looking for advice. I
know it could be adrenal again. Could this be an incomplete spay? Is
there anything short of surgery that could clarify this? I know it will
needed in the end. I there any ultrasound, blood test or anything that
could help diagnosis this. She is a sweet thing. She can fall asleep on
your chest and sleep for an hour or more. The other odd thing is the
way Rocky treats her. He is again grabbing her by the scruff of the
neck and dragging her away; under the bed usually. Any clue would help.
Thanks, Olivia
