Subject: [ferrethealth] Ivermectin for large groups
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

I learned from another shelter to use 1/10th of a cc per ferret of the
dog strength Revolution. You can get Revolution in the large dog size,
poke a syringe with needle into the seal of the ampule and draw out
what you need. Remove the needle and put the dose on the back of the
neck. With this method there is very little waste. But it is still not
low cost. The large dog size has 3- 3ml ampules, and the lowest cost we
can find here is $62. With care that can treat a lot of ferrets.
Sometimes I've squirted it out into a plastic spoon and drawn it up in
the syringe but the way with the needle wastes less. If there is
leftover you can put the cap back on and stand the ampule up in a film
canister.
