I just had to take my ferrets in for being sick with a fever,
congestion like what I think you are talking about, so they got x-rays
and were prescribed Clavamox as a "cure all" to see if it will help,
since the x-ray pretty much ruled out lymphoma (and of course, if you
think you can't have two ferrets with lymphoma at the same time, I've
had two die within a week of each other already this year). The only
other thing that really worries me is it being distemper, but only
time will tell. Yes, they are vaccinated, but the time is coming up
for their shots to be due. With them being sick, I don't even want to,
and they are all reaching 5.

He does need to go to the vet. There isn't much you can do at home for
him other that the supplemental feedings you are already doing.
